On May 4 the annual regional stage of the Festival of the "Ready for Labor and Defense" All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex among students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the stadium of the "Burevestnik" sports complex of Volga region University.
Fifty students from six higher education institutions of the Republic took part in the festival: Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism (two teams), Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Kazan Institute of Culture, Kazan Agrarian University and Kazan Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
The awards ceremony was conducted by Nail Fazleev, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Gulfiya Gabdulkhaerova, Head of the Testing Centre of the All-Russian Volga Region State University.
In the all-team championship, the first team of the Volga Region University won the total points, the second place was taken by the Agrarian University, and the representatives of the National Research Technological University took the "bronze".
"Three best teams will represent Tatarstan at the next All-Russian stage of the Festival, which will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk on July 1-6," commented Gulfiya Gabdulkhaerova, Head of the Testing Centre of the All-Russian Volga Region University. - But I would like to note that all participants, without exception, demonstrated an excellent level of physical fitness, fighting spirit and will to win, as well as teamwork at every stage of the competition.
