The Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism presented the programme "Kazan Cat" for participation in the Republican Festival of Art "Student Spring of the Republic of Tatarstan". As part of the performance, members of the jury and the audience were allowed to plunge into the history of the legendary Kazan cats, told on behalf of the representatives of the felines of the Palace Coup era themselves.
Kazan cats go to St. Petersburg: to fight the Rat King and his pack in the name of art! But is it all so straightforward?
The story presented many elements that could draw the spectators in: the eternal struggle of good against evil; passionate performances of brilliant characters (what the appearance of Alabars the cat alone is worth); rock and rap music (both styles were in harmony within one event); waltz and hip-hop dances and Tatar dances; the atmosphere of the halls of the Winter Palace and contrast to them the dirty basements, the abode of rats.
The most painful blow in the struggle between the parties was not physical force, but a reminder that the way to renounce fighting for a dream, for the right to be what you want - is to choose the path of the loser, the one who will extinguish the light inside himself and try to extinguish it in others.
The organisers of the event demonstrated not only creativity with their idea and play, but also reflected an important message: you have to fight for what you love, despite the backgrounds and beliefs of those around you.
