On 23 April, the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism hosted the final Open Doors Day of the current admission campaign.
The programme was traditionally extensive. Almost three hundred prospective applicants attended the university presentation in the concert hall, met with representatives of institutes and departments, went on a tour of the Universiade Village dormitory, and then were able to get additional advice from the admission committee.
Both pupils and their parents were impressed by the facilities of one of the most state-of-the-art higher education establishments of Russia, and by the comfortable eco-system the university has created: pre-school and school-age children can play sports at the university's sports facilities within the framework of the Comprehensive Sports School, later study at the university's college and then complete their higher education.
"The new academic year will be new in many ways," said Adelia Pavlova, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation. - We will have a college, where training will be conducted in the following areas: physical education, adaptive physical education, tourism and hospitality. We will also have an innovation in higher education - an interesting, perspective direction - information systems and technologies in physical culture, sports and tourism. We are sure that our graduates will be in great demand in this field. In addition - we have a very strong cybersports club, we are actively involved in the preparation for the "Games of the Future" and try to keep up with the times. Anyone interested in modern technology and sports should definitely come to us.
