The Volga Region University hosted the finals of the All-Russian competition "Start the Game" of the presidential platform "Russia - the Land of Opportunities". 300 participants from 59 regions of Russia fought for the victory, offering their ideas for developing talents in the gaming industry, solving cases from project partners and defending developments in front of investors.
The guests of the event were heads of executive authorities, representatives of top management of technology segment companies, as well as heads of game studios and industry experts.
“The All-Russian competition “Start the Game” is a new project in the line of presidential platform competitions, we launched it last summer, but more than 82,000 people from 89 regions of Russia have already become participants,” said Alexei Komissarov, Director General of ANO “Russia is a Land of Opportunities” . “Many of them started their game development journey from scratch and have achieved tremendous success.”
The Republic of Tatarstan was not chosen by chance to host the competition - the region. In addition, the republic is traditionally distinguished by hospitality and assistance in the development of young talents.
“For a long time we have been treating games not as games, sorry for the tautology,” added Rafis Burganov, rector of the Volga Region University, in his address to the finalists. - Our university trains coaches, namely, they are the first to take a child into their hands. In many sports, recruitment into a group is carried out at a very young age - at two or three years. And it is our graduate who gives the first skills, the first knowledge to the child. To do this, he must know a lot. In the modern world, it is necessary to be developed in all areas, especially those related to technology and information.”
“Tatarstan always actively supports the activities of the ANO “Russia is a Land of Opportunities,” said Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan. — I am sure that the Start the Game project for the search and development of young talents in the gaming industry will become a popular event among the Russian IT community and will help our country get a new development in the field of eSports. I hope this forum will be the beginning of the formation of applied, systemic approaches.”
