The winning streak began with home games in the SHL regular season, during which the Winged Bars hockey team hosted first a team from Smolensk and then principled opponents from Tambov on home ice. Both games ended in victory for the University team.

On February 25-26, the final matches of the "regular season" were held, which resulted in selecting of 16 play-off participants and pairs of 1/8 finals.

With 22 points and in the top three we approached the knock-out games. On March 10 the hot season started and the Winged Bars hockey team went to Kaliningrad to fight for a place in the Final Eight.

The mood for the game with the West of Russia team was such that the clicks in the warm-up exceeded the board's stamina. A technical hitch and we opened the scoring in the game. We took the initiative - we got a little slack towards the end of the second and beginning of the third periods, but we put the game to bed.
The score of the first game was 3-5 and the first win of the playoff series was ours.

Danil Zharov (#67), Rishat Akhmetzyanov (#17), Ruslan Akhmetvaliev (#15), Askar Kurashov (#23) and Adel Galiullin (#95) scored goals.

On March 11 we got our second victory in the play-offs and secured a trip to Sochi for the Final Eight of the Student Hockey League.
In the second match, Danil Pyanov (#41), the team captain, then Raily Sharipov (#89) scored a double, Fidel Sabirzyanov (#97) converted the game for us, while Ivan Khrunin (#69) and Kirill Belikov (#96) put the final touches in this elimination match. The score of the game was 3-6 in favour of the University team.

They won two out of two in the play-offs and secured a trip to Sochi for the Final Eight.

"The Final Eight of the Student Hockey League will be held in Sochi in early April.
