During a working meeting with Adelia Pavlova - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Andrey Nazarenko - Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs and Oleg Solomakhin - Director of the Institute of Distance Education, they discussed issues of cooperation.

By tradition, the guests were given a tour of the university facilities, the academic laboratory building and the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. As a result of the meeting, a decision was made on further cooperation both in terms of education and sport as well as within the framework of the scientific component.

"First and foremost, of course, we talked about attracting athletes of the federation to enter our university in various areas, including distance learning," Oleg Solomakhin said. - In this regard, we agreed to post information about our university on all Internet sites of the federation.

"During the visit to the Volga Region Institute of Physical Education and Sport, it was decided to start cooperation in the area of medical support for disabled athletes, members of the national team," says Adelia Pavlova. - In addition, we talked about the possibility of developing a special simulator for arm-wrestling athletes to take hand measurements in arm-wrestling.
Alexander Filimonov himself admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by the conditions created at the Volga Region University.

"I myself am a graduate of the Russian State University of Sports "GTSOLIFK", and I understand what it's like to study, train and compete," admitted the FIA President. - It's been a long time since I've been to an educational institution of this kind, so I was doubly impressed by the way the students' educational process was organised. The university has really good conditions not only for studying but also for achieving good results in sport. And it is very important that there is support for students with disabilities, for them there are also good opportunities to improve their sporting skills and acquire knowledge.
