The third round of the All-Russian University Rowing League was held last weekend at one of the facilities of Volga University - the Rowing Centre. The start was taken not only by students of the university, but also by pupils of the sports school.
On the first day, the athletes competed in the longest distance in the student league - 6,000 metres. Oleg Sartaev, a university student, became the winner. His classmate Rakhat Duseikenov placed third, with sophomore Dmitry Drozduk taking silver. The female competitors took the podium in the following order: Daria Shinkareva, Elina Khramova (an athlete from Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve), Kristina Puganova.
On the second day of the competition, at the 500m distance, new to the rowing league, the winner was Rakhat Duseikenov, Oleg Sartaev took silver, with Dmitry Drozdyuk coming in third. Among girls, Darya Shinkareva came in first, with Kristina Puganova placing second. In the 4x500m relay, also new to SGL, the quartet of Oleg Sartaev, Roman Kondrashin, Dmitry Drozdjuk and Rakhat Duseikenov took gold.
