As the head of the federal sports department noted, the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan and the Volga Region University “... these are very close events in my life. And I always rejoice when, summing up the results of the year, the republic has something to be proud of.”

“As a minister, I see a strategically important direction that sport occupies in regional politics,” said Oleg Matytsin. - We have entered the year of celebration of the 100th anniversary of the creation of the state management system in the field of sports and the year of the 10th anniversary of the World Universiade. Thanks to the bright holding of the Universiade, an impetus was received, which gave the development of sports and physical culture in the region. And high standards were set for the development of all world university sports.”

Separately, the head of the department spoke about the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism. “I always watch how the university develops with pleasure and gratitude. It is also an integral part of the system of development of physical culture and sports in the region. I hope that these trends will continue next year,” Oleg Matytsin stressed.

The results of the meeting were summed up by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin, who stressed that, despite all the difficulties, the past year was marked by numerous successes of Tatarstan athletes in Russian and international competitions. At the same time, he stressed that all conditions have been created in the republic for physical culture and sports, as well as for athletes to achieve high sports results. “All cities and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan are provided with modern sports facilities. In 2022 alone, 197 facilities were put into operation with a total funding of 4 billion 230 million rubles, the Prime Minister noted. “In 2023, we will continue to work on the development of sports infrastructure, including using public-private partnership mechanisms.”

According to Aleksey Pesoshin, for more efficient operation of the existing infrastructure, each facility should have well-trained personnel. “Today, thousands of specialists work with athletes, children, and youth. It is necessary to continue work on training highly qualified personnel and providing them with a decent salary,” said Alexey Pesoshin.

Separately, the head of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan thanked the rectors of universities and heads of educational institutions for the development of student and school sports.
