The first medical-biological examination will be held on the coming Saturday, January 14, by young athletes of the Complex Sports School of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism.

Over several days, more than 170 students of five sports - acrobatic rock'n'roll, table tennis, swimming, sports acrobatics and artistic gymnastics - will undergo a comprehensive medical examination.

Medical support for the training process is provided by a team of sports doctors from the Volga Region State University Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.

According to Natalya Alkaeva, director of the Comprehensive Sports School, the medical examination programme includes seven types of examinations. "Based on its results, parents of athletes and coaches will receive reports on their child's health, physical performance, psychological and psychophysiological resources," Natalya Alkaeva said. - On this basis, a sports doctor will advise, among other things, on the child's predisposition to the sport he or she is involved in. In addition, the school's coaches will also receive recommendations on how to use the data in the training process.
