800 students from five Kazan universities (Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, Kazan Federal University, Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, Kazan State Technical University-KAI, Kazan State University of Economics and Finance) have completed the 2022 GTO merit exams. Of these: 732 students have achieved the gold mark of distinction, 648 students the silver mark of distinction and 420 students the bronze mark of distinction.
According to the GTO Federal Operator ANO "Directorate of Sports and Social Projects", in December 2022 alone over 200,000 Russians including 9,700 Tatarstanis joined the TRP movement. The total number of people who joined the movement in the country is 19.4 million or 14.3% of the population over the age of 6.
According to Gulfiya Gabdulkhaerova, Head of the Testing Centre of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, despite their busy schedule of training and competition activities, students of Tatarstan's capital city are very eager to take the norms.
"Everyone could assess their level of physical fitness. The main thing is to strive to show the best result and get your golden mark.
Throughout the year, students were actively engaged in performing exercises of the GTO complex. In December, within the framework of the ten-day program of the GTO, the Burevestnik Sports Complex and Aquatics Palace of Kazan's Volga Region hosted a test of the TRP in two sports: swimming and cross-country skiing. Our plans for 2023 include breaking our own student record," said the head of the GTO Testing Centre of Tatarstan's sports universities.
It should be noted that the goal of the federal project Sport as a Standard of Living is to encourage 70% of Russians to engage in sport and physical education by 2030 and thus improve their quality of life.
