The Znamensky Brothers Olympic Centre in Moscow hosted the traditional competition "Stars of University Sport", where about 500 strongest track and field athletes of Russia represented 78 universities.

The students of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism took medals in practically every discipline. This result shows that the athletes are very well prepared for the winter running season.

On the first day, Anastasia Secretarova won the men's 600m with a time of 1.29.48. Danil Kornev placed second in the long jump with a time of 7.39m. Ulyana Serova brought one more medal to the medal tally that day with a silver in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.74.

On the final day the athletes won five medals. First, freshman Eva Mendeleyeva conquered 1.73m - a silver medal. 2.15m and "bronze" also in the high jump went to Master's student Alexey Fadeev. The second silver medal came from the boys in the 4x200m relay race, Gleb Neustoev, Marat Shakirov, Adel Zarifullin and Gleb Plotnikov. Girls - Daria Semenova, Ulyana Serova, Ekaterina Golubyatnikova, Karina Galieva - took third place in the same discipline. Vladimir Chistyakov took bronze in the 2000m hurdles.

According to the results, the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism took the third place, losing to the Moscow Academy of Physical Education only by additional indicators. The first place went to the students of SCSOLIFC.
