On 4 December, the Volga Region University of Sport hosted a scientific-practical conference entitled "The Current State of Training of the Sports Reserve in Football, Ice Hockey and Figure Skating".
Together with colleagues and students from the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture and the Siberian State University of Physical Culture and Sport, they discussed important issues related to the current state of preparation of the sports reserve in football, hockey and figure skating.
Due to sanctions, our athletes have no access to the world arena. It is only through joint efforts, cooperation and mutual assistance that we will be able to conduct training camps and competitions at a decent level within our countries. In this way we can keep our high-level athletes motivated, fit and able to compete with foreign athletes in the future.
Valery Pokaninov, head of football and hockey theory and methodology department of Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, associate professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, addressed the attendees with welcoming remarks and expressed interest in further cooperation. Viktoria Novitskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Games and Martial Arts of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. Vyacheslav Blinov, Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Football and Ice Hockey at the Siberian State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. The participants of the conference were the teaching staff, members of the Student Scientific Circle, members of the Student Research Laboratory of the Department of the Theory and Methodology of Football and Ice Hockey of the Volga Region, the Belarusian and Siberian Universities of Sports.
Volga Region University was represented by Artemiy Marasinsky with his paper "Methodology of training football players from Academy of FC Rubin Kazan" and Mikhail Yudin with actual topic "Development of puck throwing technique in view of motor asymmetry in 11-12 year old hockey players".
"The main goal of the conference is to start cooperation between university departments in educational, scientific, methodological and sports activities. This conference was the first step for the implementation of joint activities. The Department of Theory and Methodology of Football and Ice Hockey implemented within the framework of this conference. The cooperation with the Belarusian University expands opportunities and brings students and teachers together to implement joint projects," comments Andrei Nazarenko, Vice Rector for Research and International Activities, on the strategic importance of the meeting.
