The first match went quite calmly, but the guests systematically scored points, winning each of the three games - 0:3 (22:25, 23:25, 20:25). The second meeting began in the same format - the "soldiers" won the opening game measuredly and confidently (20:25). However, this time the "academicians" managed to outplay them already in the second set (25:23) and crush them in the third one - 25:16. The next two games were equal, first the guests won - 22:25, then Kazan - 15:11. As a result, 3:2 in favor of the hosts of the site.
According to the head coach of VC "Academy-Kazan" Maxim Maksimov, youth were tested in these matches in combat conditions. “On the first day we started the match with two young players, we had to see them in action. Somewhere they kept their level well, but, as is typical for young players, there were failures. I think that's why we lost the first game. In the second - already the whole team swam, made about 14 of their own mistakes. We couldn't get together in the third one, - Maxim Maksimov said. - In the second meeting, captain Alexei Kobilev came out, the team began to play with him more confidently. We used the pipe - it brought its dividends. We simplified the serve a little - we switched to a glider and moved the opponent away from the net. And finally the block worked. The youth was good in the second match, we had three people for the first time to play in the big leagues. So we are learning, we will continue to work.”
