Employees of Volga Region State University took the relay race to pass the norms of the All-Russian complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (GTO). Last week, in honor of the International Day of University Sport, about 60 representatives wanted to test their strength. Each of them passed standards according to their age groups.

The first who began to carry out the standards of the GTO were the representatives of the Department of Theory and Methods of Gymnastics, headed by the acting head of the department Lyubov Botova. Last Saturday the nine teachers-gymnasts were joined by employees of other departments and divisions of the university.

The youngest of those who passed the standards is 22 years old Ramila Nasartdinova, senior laboratory assistant of Physical Education Department, the oldest is 68 years old Leonid Lopatin, a teacher of Gymnastics Department.

Dmitry Fonarev, teacher at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports, who easily performed all the norms of the GTO set, was especially distinguished.

As a result, nineteen employees of the University completed the standards for the gold mark, two more - for "silver". Those who have completed the norms of the complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" will be awarded badges, presumably at the beginning of next year.
