Vasilyevo hosted the traditional tournament for the prizes of UNICS President Evgeny Bogachev, where the university basketball team, RPF-University of Sports, became the silver medalist.
On the first day the team played a tough game against Perm's Parma-M. After the third quarter the university was losing by 16 points, but after the break it managed to score decisive baskets and take the lead. Thus the result of the game was decided in the last minute - 75:70 in favor of Kazan (22:23; 42:31; 59:43; 70:75).
On the second day of the tournament, luck was on the side of the home team, UNICS's youth team (80-98 - 29-14; 47-34; 70-49; 98-80). In the decisive third day against Samara Alexsand Shagan, head coach of BC "RPF-University of Sports", managed to tune in properly after the loss and win the "silver" of the tournament, winning the game 59:70 (20:20; 31:38; 52:62; 59:70). And Vadim Fedkin was named the best center of the tournament. 7115:15
UNICS-2 won the tournament, with Parma-m in third place.
We would remind you that the men's basketball team of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism had some changes this year. Now the team has a new name "RPF-University of Sports" and will play in the 22/23 season in the High League of Russian Championship and Russian Basketball Cup.
Jaroslav Lobanov, a player of BC "RPF-University of Sports" shared his plans for the near future of the team:
"We are fully charged for the new season. It was just a friendly game for us. Ahead is the Cup of Russia, where we want to do our best and have a good tour."
