The solemn ceremony of announcing the host city of the new international sports tournament was held at the stand of the Ministry of Sports of Russia. It was attended by the Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin, the head of the project "Games of the Future" Igor Stolyarov and representatives of the regions that applied for the tournament.

"I congratulate Tatarstan on receiving the honorary right to host the first ever "Games of the Future". This is a well–deserved victory - the city has long been the center of one of the strongest sports regions of the country, whose clubs are fighting for the highest places, both in the national championship and at the international level. A little more than a year and a half remains before the opening of the Games. We have to do something that no one has ever done before. This is definitely a challenge. I am sure that Kazan will cope with it perfectly and will set a new standard for holding spectacular sports events," Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also thanked all the regions participating in the bid campaign. He recalled that its launch was given in November 2021, more than 40 regions were interested in the project, half of them sent applications for participation. The shortlist includes 5 cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kaluga and the Federal Territory "Sirius".

"It will be 9 days of competitions in 15 types of the most technologically advanced sports. But most importantly, these are competitions that give an opportunity to develop harmoniously a human personality, because there you need to have not only outstanding abilities at the world level in cyber disciplines, but also be in excellent physical shape. Such sports competitions will be held for the first time. Just as Pierre de Coubertin once united existing sports into the Olympic Games, so now a new, completely unique competition format will be born before our eyes," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

During the bid campaign, the organizers evaluated more than 50 sports and hotel infrastructure facilities according to 200 criteria, including 26 competition venues.

"Over the past 15 years, we have held a large number of large-scale sporting events that have been positively evaluated by the world sports community. Now Russia is an innovator with the idea of holding a completely new format of sports competitions – the "Games of the Future" tournament. Its holding opens up a technological facet of sports, and also forms a new generation of champions," said Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin.

"Choosing the capital of the "Games of the Future" is a crucial moment, both for the organizers and for the host party. Today we have set a new vector along which we will move in order to hold a large-scale tournament of a new format at the proper level. During the ceremony, today we thanked the participants of the bid campaign for their work on the project, because despite the fact that there is only one winner, we have a lot of like–minded people in different regions of Russia," added Igor Stolyarov, head of the Games of the Future project.

The Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan commented on the victory of the capital of Tatarstan for the right to host the "Games of the Future – 2024":

"We are glad of such an event! "Games of the Future" is a new project for us. Kazan has a rich experience of holding such large-scale events and we will try to hold these competitions in the best possible way. However, at this stage, the project of the Games is being formed, about 15 disciplines are presented to us, but we have never held competitions for a number of them, even in our country. We have the advantage that we have already held some events in some sports in Kazan, but I can say for sure that there will be test competitions. We will look with the organizing committee, what we will do, on what dates and times, look at objects. Within the framework of the bid company, we have already presented some of the objects and I can say that the main venue will be the Kazan Expo exhibition complex. It is conveniently located and there is an opportunity to conduct most of the disciplines," Vladimir Leonov shared.
