The talk show "Hello, tourist" from the student tour club once again united all fans of exciting stories. This time, the guest speaker of the event was associate professor of the Department of Adaptive Physical Culture and Life Safety Valery Morchkov, an experienced tourist, a repeated participant of categorical hikes, curator of the tour club. The topic of discussion was the tragic death of tourists at the Dyatlov Pass.

A little history: On January 23, 1959, a group of student tourists led by Igor Dyatlov went hiking in the Ural Mountains. In 18 days, the group had to ski 300 kilometers in the north of the Sverdlovsk region with an ascent to two peaks. The hike belonged to the highest category of complexity according to the classification of the 50s. A month after the group disappeared, rescuers found a tent cut open on the slope of an unnamed pass and five frozen bodies within a radius of one and a half kilometers from it. The corpses of the others were found in May. Versions of death vary: up to the influence of otherworldly forces.

During the live dialogue, the participants of the event shared their versions of the cause of the tragedy. Valery Yurievich studied the history of the tragic death of students very carefully and shared his thoughts with the audience:

- I am more inclined to agree with the official version. Accident: a huge avalanche coming down from the mountains, the guys in a hurry began to leave the tent, made repeated cuts of the canvas from the inside. It is rather strange that they chose this particular place to camp and set up a tent, because it is obvious that there was danger from above in the form of an avalanche. However, in Soviet times, those who conducted the examination did not approach the investigation of this tragedy so responsibly, and many things still remain a mystery.

Valery Yurievich participated in the summer categorical hike to the Dyatlov Pass:

- There were 12 tourists from different parts of the country: Kirov, St. Petersburg, I am one of Kazan. He claimed to be a participant in the campaign, but at some moments he assumed the duties of a leader. There really is something amazing in this place, something that attracts and will attract tourists. And this is not only the tragedy of the Dyatlov group. These are the wildlife of the Urals, local residents, representatives of the Mansi people living in the village of Vizhay… But mysticism, as such, I did not feel there.

It is worth noting that Valery Yurievich plans to organize his hike to the Dyatlov Pass for students of the Volga Region University of Sports and all comers. A prerequisite will be the experience of participating in previous campaigns. Individual interviews will be conducted with applicants. This format will allow you to select only the most disciplined and collected guys, and this is very important for categorical hikes.

At the end of the talk show, according to tradition, the organizers invited the guests to take part in quizzes, music contests with sweet gifts for the most active.

- I am grateful to the tour club for resuming the show "Hello, tourist!". Many people were waiting for his return, including me, - Ekaterina Nikonorova, a third-year student of the Tourism direction, shares her impressions. - Today's event included everything that made it popular: a cozy, homely atmosphere, a rich program in which everyone could take part. As always, we learned a lot of new things, rested, had fun, laughed. Thanks to the organizers for all this!
