This is a difficult academic year for students of the Volga region Academy of sports, divided into two almost equal parts: before and after the quarantine associated with the coronavirus pandemic. The session is over and it is time for the summer holidays for students. The distance learning format allowed most of the residents of dormitories to go home long before graduation. After lifting the ban on movement between Russian regions, many people were able to return for their belongings. And graduates who have completed their studies now come for their diplomas and leave the dormitories. The management of the Volga Academy supported foreign students who were forced to stay in the hostel during the period of self-isolation with food packages.
All the final events of the Academy were held this year on virtual platforms. So The student Council of the hostel instead of the traditional final meeting with the presentation of memorable gifts and diplomas released a video in the official Vkontakte group with the most exciting events of the year: https://vk.com/sportacadem_campus?z=video-61493852_456239060%2F3d0f6e22087723b289%2Fpl_wall_-61493852.  The rest – when we meet in the new academic year.
According to "veteran" team of specialists working in the youth hostel – Maya Mammadova, it is difficult to overestimate the role of a responsible home, students Valeria Artamoshina, Ilfat approve, Alexandra Mikhailova and Dmitry Prokofiev, which gathers the most active guys and support, together with Student dormitories, student Service security and Voluntary fire brigade in order in the dormitories.
"To create a homely atmosphere, which we try to surround newcomers from the first day of their arrival in the hostel," says Albina Hafizova, a specialist in youth work at No. 27, " it is important that first-year students not only know the rules of living, but also treat their new home with respect and positivity. This academic year, the children gave their best, despite their busy sports schedule, showed interest and attended events."
"In spite of the difference of the houses on composition and way of life, involvement of students in community life became higher, they began to make friends, and this is the main indicator of the success of our work, - the Chairman of the Student Council of a hostel, student of the faculty of service and tourism Adele Mustaev. "For students who live in dormitories, joint leisure activities, parties, picnics and just meetings over a Cup of tea are very important, so that children, especially first-year students, feel that they belong to a large academic family."
For many, the transition to an independent life away from home is not easy. To solve psychological problems often helps a heart to heart conversation or just the presence of a sympathetic person nearby… Such as psychologists of the center "Trust", who resumed their work this year, first in the hostel of the Academy, and then began to consult those who want to remotely. Living in a hostel helps students learn how to organize their time. In addition, there is a chance to prove yourself to those who want not only to observe what is happening, but also to do something themselves.
Updated 80% of the Student Dorm back in the fall of 2019 vigorously got down to business and was able not only to carry out all planned for the year of the event, and to oppose the challenges of the 2020 active citizenship in preparation for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory and technical competence in the realization of their Patriotic initiatives: virtual marathon "75 steps to victory," quest "Roads of the great Patriotic war", the contest of poems about the war, a test war movies, etc., than proved, that there are no barriers to implementation for active and creative people in the modern world. In the very center of attention was the information sector of the student Council of the hostel, which was headed by a student of the faculty of service and tourism, a member of the Student media center Yana Ivanova. So, despite the end of the school year, students continue to communicate and miss their "second home", which is regularly written about in social networks.
