Today, the VI all-Russian winter Universiade 2020 started in Krasnoyarsk. Participants of the cross-country skiing competitions started. And on the first day of the competition, representatives of the Volga sports Academy won two gold medals. Undergraduates Olga Kucheruk and Pavel Belosludtsev showed the best results at distances of 5 and 10 kilometers in the classic style.
From February 19 to March 5, the host city of the world winter Universiade 2019, Krasnoyarsk, will host the final competitions in four sports: biathlon, short track, orienteering and cross-country skiing. It is planned that 800 athletes will take part in them. The Volga region Academy of sports delegated skiers and orienteering teams to Krasnoyarsk.
First-year student Polina Lobastova, fourth-year students Niyaz Taipov, Sergey Lytnev and Daria Belosludtseva, second-year student Ilya Kuznetsov, third-year students Yegor Trefilov and Svetlana Ziyangirova, master's students Pavel Belosludtsev and Olga Kucheruk went to Krasnoyarsk as part of the cross-country skiing team led by senior teachers of the Department of theory and methodology of cyclic sports Aidar Sirazetdinov and Leonid Savosin.
In the women's 5-kilometer race, Olga Kucheruk finished with a winning result of 00: 14: 50.3, "academician" Daria Belosludtseva placed fifth in the final report, and Svetlana Ziyangirova in 15th.
Pavel Belosludtsev covered the 10-kilometer distance in 00: 26: 36.2. Niyaz Taipov finished the race with the fourth result. Ilya Kuznetsov-10th. Yegor Trefilov – 23rd.
Orienteering competitions start on February 29. Under the direction of assistant Professor of sport management, recreation and sport tourism Ravil Nabiullina and senior lecturer of the Department of theory and methodology of cyclic sports Ilya Filippov in Krasnoyarsk went to the freshmen Arseny of Handuraw and Natalia Moreva, a second-year student Naila Akhmetshina, fourth-year students Michael Terukov and Andrey Savenkov, graduate Anton Skalkin, Alice Khafizova and Evelyn Fairuzova.
