Ilya Sibirtsev, a first-year student of the Volga Academy of sports, Volgograd, added "bronze" at a distance of 1.5 kilometers to the silver medal won a few days earlier at the Junior world championship in swimming in Budapest.
The world championship was held from 20 to 25 August in the capital of Hungary in the sports complex "Danube arena", erected for the world aquatics championship 2017. The competition was attended by about 800 athletes from 14 to 18 years of age from more than 100 countries. 42 sets of awards were played during the tournament.
In a final swim at five hundred kilometers distance Sibirtsev lost and Australian Thomas Nallu and Croat Franco Grgic, setting a youth world record. Recall that it was Grgic became the winner of the 800-metrovke, where Sibirtsevo got "silver".
