18-year-old pupils of "Rubin" and players of the national team of Russia U-18 Vladislav Mikushin and Ilya Agapov whom a year ago began to connect to the basis Kurban Berdyev, were engaged at the start of a season in questions of education. Last week, both passed entrance exams to the Volga region Academy of sports – one of the largest sports universities in Russia, where other players of Kazan rail Abdullin and Danil Stepanov are already studying.
For admission to the Department of theory and methodology of football and hockey is not enough only the results of the exam. Each entrant showed the teachers their skills of the game.

75 players from different regions of the country came to enter the Academy. Mikushin and Agapov – one of the few who already acted at the professional level, but tests they passed on an equal basis with all.  "We have a group of our talented players. Two Central defenders Vladislav Mikushin and Ilya Agapov are the future of Rubin. Both now play for the Junior team of Russia U-18, and Mikushin on the June match against Moldova brought the team with the captain's armband.
A couple of juniors spent all winter training camps with Rubin in Turkey, and Mikushin even played in the Russian Cup – Berdyev released him for ten minutes of the March quarter-finals with Lokomotiv (0:1). Roman Sharonov, in which they rose from the youth in the basis, is not so high in the estimates of pupils. Head of the Department of theory and methodology of football and hockey Valery Potanino made Mikulino and Agapov comment that they took the balls without the permission of the employees of the University. During the tests, no one had to stand out from the total mass of applicants by their status.
"I would not say that their technical equipment is very high, – has told "BUSINESS Online" Potanino. – Maybe because they're protectors. There are tests which they passed, good, some turned out not really. We don't care where people come from. Graduates of secondary schools and sports academies are coming. The main thing is that they can show their capabilities."
Both defenders "the ruby" Potanino lit in different teams for scrimmages. Tasks where you need to fill the ball the right number of times, do not require as much attention of experts as the game situation. Therefore, the whole group of teachers closely followed all applicants during the control mini-games, making notes on paper.
"We have a very qualified group – said Potanino. – There are experienced staff. With us, for example, the former football player and coach of "Rubin" Airat Gainullin. Last year he worked in the coaching staff of Sharonov in the youth composition of Kazan. Therefore, ten minutes for each game is enough for us to disassemble each player for scoring. We monitor the technical and physical equipment of students, evaluate their thinking in game situations. In some ways, a subjective assessment, but expert. MIKUSHIN: "IF I CAN PLAY, THEN I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME A COACH»
Mikushin shared with us his impressions of the entrance tests of the University.
"The exams are calm, everything is organized for the players. Hit the goal, juggling the ball, do the transfer for accuracy, a little played. I think it is enough that the teachers could understand that everyone is", he said.
According to him, this is very different from testing young players in a professional team. ""Julia" all exercises are tailored to the situation. For young players from the reserve team do not arrange separate tests on the field. Immediately you get to the training, where the working cycle is formed. In the main team of "Rubin" Agapov and Mikushin are not the only ones who are associated with the Volga Academy of sports. Debuting last season for Kazan, rail Abdullin and Danil Stepanov have already completed the first year at the University. Their partners and applicants this year are ready to repeat the path of sophomores.
"I talked to them and asked how they will pass the entrance test. So I knew we'd be waiting on the field. Actually, I want to study. I understand that it is important to get a good education. I am interested to know how coaches work. I know that in the future this knowledge will help me. God forbid, if you manage to play at a high level, then I would like to become a coach. Other options not considered. In the Volga region Academy, according to reviews, all at a high level, I would like to come here. I also considered sports management here, but it is more difficult to combine this direction with training and games for the club," Mikushin said.
COMING PREFER KAZAN MOSCOW
This year's recruitment figures in the Volga region Academy are almost the same as in the past – the difference is a few people. A year earlier, 46 people were admitted. This year we expect about the same number of football coaches. In the Academy come from different sports, and there are just guys who want to continue to work coaches.
At the same time, football is not the only area of training for coaches. Just these days in different facilities of the Academy to pass entrance examinations for professionals in 19 sports. At seven sites, of Volga Academy of sport passed the entrance test of the students who applied for admission to the faculty of sport, at the direction of the coach in the chosen sport. In General, more than 500 students took part in the tests.

In the coming days, the admissions Committee will post the assessment of applicants, so that soon the guys will know whether they eventually carry a school certificate for four years in the Volga Academy of sports.
