The opportunity to combine foreign internships and practice was discussed at the coworking site
In the Volga region Academy resumed its work in the new academic year coworking platform "first Time" - a space that unites people for communication, creative interaction, as well as discussion of issues and joint problem solving. At the first meeting, students of the Academy, teachers, University management and representatives of the program "Work and travel" discussed issues related to the ability to combine foreign internships with practical training. The goal of the Work and travel program is to help students get back to America for work during the summer holidays. The company implementing this program is engaged in the search for suitable vacancies, city, place of residence, and also helps in obtaining a visa. The work is offered only in the service sector: amusement parks, restaurants, shops and hotels. Just say that the offer for students of other faculties of the Academy, too, may be possible. 
Dreaming to gaze at the movie stars in Los Angeles and sunbathe on the beaches of Malibu is disappointed, as Work and travel does not provide an opportunity to work on the West coast. This is due, according to the representative of the program with a large influx of foreign unemployed citizens from Mexico and low-income States. California, as they say, is not rubber. Dreams of Miami, unfortunately, will dissipate too. This is the fault of the non-touristic season during the program.Of course, there is nothing to do in the US without knowledge of English. The campaign strongly recommends that everyone learn the language of Shakespeare and Beckham. But even if you think that you have overcome this task, do not rush to rejoice: flying across the ocean and hearing English from the lips of local residents, you will immediately doubt your knowledge. But it is not terrible, in a month the language barrier will be overcome.
From the speeches of the guys who have already visited the United States, the most attention was drawn to the story of Salavat Gilmutdinov about the good income of students-trainees. And Kasym Safin pleased the audience with his story about getting a visa. Before the trip, he modestly assessed his knowledge of English. Within six months, preparing, worried, and the interview even disappointed. That's it?!"- I thought, leaving the Embassy.
Anton Skalkin and Arina Saifutdinova urged the audience to carefully prepare for the trip. They have learned from their own experience that delaying the solution of organizational problems is a bad idea. They also shared information about their earnings. For the time spent in America, they were able to recoup the cost of the program ($2500), go on a trip to the other end of the United States and bring home$1500.
But not everything is so simple in this seemingly cool idea. After the guys took the floor Vice-rector for academic Affairs of the Volga Academy Almaz Galimov. Despite the interest in the program, the Vice-rector has serious doubts about the expediency of students ' participation in it. They are associated with their often frivolous attitude to study, attending classes and passing the session. Almaz Mirzanurovich strongly recommended to make trips of this kind during the summer holidays, without affecting the time of the educational process, and the representative of the campaign to find opportunities for internships of students, taking into account the end of the session and the beginning of the new school year.
This issue is the main stumbling block today. The official end date of the session in the Volga region Academy is about 1-2 weeks of July, and the beginning of the school year is September 1. To go to the United States for a month and a half, according to representatives of the campaign is not advisable. Early delivery of session could become the solution of a problem. But, first, not everyone can be admitted to it (depending on the performance and attendance of lectures), and secondly, not everyone can pass it the first time, and thirdly (and this is important), it is provided only in the most exceptional cases, to which the trip to the United States does not apply. And the procedure approved by the Ministry of education of the Russian Federation does not allow to move the start date of the session.
Students logically offered to take into account the work in the United States as a practice. However, to do this, the University must conclude a contract with the company. Representatives of the program in principle not against. Only if all these points come together, "academicians" will be able to count on a legitimate foreign internship.
The leadership of the University students are not less interested in the fact that they had received training abroad. Working in the field of services abroad is a useful experience and another level of requirements, especially valuable for students in the field of service and tourism, not to mention the language practice.
According to the representative of Albina's campaign, 2-3 months of independent life and work in another country is an invaluable human experience, an opportunity to learn the price of money, to experience how hard it is to earn in the conditions of fierce competition... Working in the US opens up additional opportunities for students in employment, because such experience increases their attractiveness in the eyes of employers.
The meeting at the coworking site has not yet given answers to all the questions. But the students came back inspired: they were heard! The bilateral discussion is the best opportunity to reach an agreement, to find a compromise solution reached on the basis of cooperation.
