11 students-skiers of the Volga region Academy of sports represented the Republic of Tatarstan at the V winter all-Russian Universiade on ski races. The competitions were held in Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk region) and ended with the victory of students who play for the Tatarstan University. According to the coach of the student team of the Volga region Academy Leonid Savosin, the victory was not easy. Teams of 32 universities participating in the competition from 29 regions of Russia were represented, including members of the Junior and youth teams of Russia up to 23 years, so that the competition was more than high.
Two gold medals on account of the graduate student Ilya Semikov, who first became the winner of the 10-kilometer distance classic style, then won the classic sprint. Undertaking teammate supported girls. Lali Kvaratskhelia and Maria Likhacheva won the team sprint in free style. Men's team sprint bronze medal was won by Roman Tarasov and Diamond Taipov. The silver medalists of the men's relay was the team from Tatarstan in structure of students"academics" Diamond taipova, Roman Tarasov, Ilya Semikova and Sergey Ardasheva. This result also decided destiny of gold medals of the all-Russian University games. In the team competition, representatives of the Volga region Academy bypassed skiers Smolensk state Academy of physical culture, sports and tourism and Ural state University of physical culture, which, respectively, took second and third place. A year later, the winners of the competition will take part in the 29th world winter Universiade, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk.
