A graduate of the Volga region Academy of sports, skier Andrei Larkov became a double winner of the winter Olympic games in Pyeongchang. First, the team with Bolshunova, Alexei Chervotkina and Denis by Speculum, he won the silver medal ski relay race 4Х10км, "having worked" your part of the way on "gold". And then on 50-km ski marathon (mass start), as more experienced, long "insured" Alexander Bolshunov in group prosecution. Two medals – "silver" Bolshunova and "bronze" became a reward for many years of work.
About their impressions about the past of the main starts of the Stalls Andrew said in an interview with R-Sport:
How was the Olympics for you, given the fact that skiathlon did not work out at all? (on this 30-km the start of the Stalls was a 30-m)
- To be honest, I expected more from the Olympics. Well... On the stage of the world Cup is more interesting. That's weak. Maybe it's my personal feeling, but I really expected a holiday. And here everything is ordinary, no different from the usual stage of the world Cup. Is that because fewer people running (with a smile).
- What do you mean, weak?
- As a whole. I watched games in Sochi on TV, and I thought it was a great holiday. Yes, and you yourself, if you were there, too, felt the scale. And here everything is banal, from living and so on. The organization of the Olympics, I think, is five orders of magnitude worse than in Sochi.
The whole world knows who we are
- At the same time, we do not take into account the status in which we stand here.
- You know, from the very beginning when we went here, we didn't feel any experiences. The only, that, of course, of our flag not was in sight. But it didn't stop us from performing - the whole world knew who we really were.
- Did foreign athletes support you when communicating?
- As always,as in the world Cup. I don't communicate with many, but of those who spoke it did not say anything against.
- When our strongest athletes were not admitted to the Olympics, was there any psychological pressure?
Is not that the moment when finally made, and since December, when every day we received news of our athletes were suspended one by one. Our ranks very much thinned, and we did not understand how it is. And could reach that our Federation could be completely discharged of participation in the Olympic games. Well, that didn't come. And the most recent blow was the removal of Sergei Ustyugov, it was generally out of the ordinary event. This was one of the key points, still not clear to anyone.
- When you gathered before the Olympics, what did you say to each other?
- All arrived from collecting, from different places. We understood that we had no way back. The film is so - and- so we had this attitude.
