Valeria Chernykh , a student of Volga Region University, was awarded the Lev Matveev Scholarship, which is awarded for special achievements in professional education in the field of physical culture and sports.
Valeria Chernykh is a member of the student scientific circle ‘Turn in Science’, which operates at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics. For two years she has been researching training processes in sport acrobatics and participating in scientific conferences of federal and international levels.
The main goal of the research is to justify from a scientific point of view the means of teaching the static element ‘Flag’. For this purpose, performances at the Russian and World Championships in sport acrobatics have already been analysed, variations in the performance of the exercise have been determined and the most effective training complex has been selected.
‘The head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics, Lyubov Botova, recommended me to take up scientific activity. I applied for the scholarship also on the recommendation. I did not think that I could win, so the victory is unexpected and valuable. When writing my work, I faced the lack of information on the element ‘Flag’ in the methodological literature. Therefore, I conducted a lot of interesting research, based on which there was a desire to develop a new set of exercises for effective training of athletes’, - shared Valeria Chernykh.
