Family in a row with 22 diplomas for all, sports commentator-polyglot, hero of the national holiday Sabantuy, editor-in-chief of the scientific journal "Science and Sport", the best young teacher at Russian universities, the first champion of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan, winners of the Kazan Mayor's Prize, world champions and Europe and many more unique and talented people - this is the composition of the Institute of Physical Culture of the Volga Region University today. All of them work every day to raise a worthy generation for our country. But they are all also ordinary people who are bound to be worried about something.

On the eve of the Higher School Teacher's Day, the rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rafis Burganov, held a meeting with the teaching staff of the Institute. This was the first meeting with the full staff in a “no tie” format. The tradition will continue in the future.

Like previous meetings with other institutes, the event began with a pleasant and expected procedure - with the presentation of departmental awards. Director of the Institute of Physical Culture Iskander Galeev and senior researcher of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sport Fanis Mavliev were awarded with the Gratitude of the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation for their significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sport and in connection with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the state management body in the field of physical culture and sport. Svetlana Zizikova, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology in the field of physical culture, was awarded with a letter of thanks from the Rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism for effective and fruitful work in organising the admission of applicants in 2023.

Further during the meeting the director of the Institute of Physical Culture Iskander Galeyev told about those who work tirelessly within the Institute.

"One leader in the field is not a warrior. All achievements are the merit of the collective. Today we have 73 staff members, 7 of them are doctors of sciences, 44 candidates of sciences. We are all different, but when we are together, we are a force", - emphasised the head of the Institute.

As it was announced, the employees had an opportunity to prepare questions for the rector of the university - some of them spoke orally, others brought them on paper. Addressing the staff, Rafis Burganov noted that such meetings will be held steadily - it is important to hear each other and have the opportunity to communicate shortly.

On the eve of the professional holiday he also noted the importance of teaching.

"The task of a teacher is to leave a worthy trace and educate the future generation. A teacher has a great responsibility. We have to foresee what will trouble the country in the coming decades. Our task is to justify our trust", - said the rector of one of the leading sports universities of the country.
