The ceremony of awarding certificates was held on the eve of the Great Victory Day at the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The solemn event began with the presentation of the banners of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan and the VOIN Centre, as well as the singing of the national and regional anthems.

The guys were congratulated on graduation by the guests of honour - Igor Kazarezov, Director of the ‘VOIN’ Centre, Alsu Asadullina, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Aigul Sabirova, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Captain Rasim Baksikov, Hero of the Russian Federation.

‘The regional branch of the VOIN Centre in Tatarstan is one of the most advanced in the country. To date, more than 1,600 cadets aged 14 to 35 have already been trained here, and more than 400 more are continuing their training. This is very important, because today we are on the way to educating a new generation of patriots who love their homeland and know how to defend it. I would like to thank the cadets for their endurance and patience, and the instructors for their professionalism and dedication,’ Igor Kazarezov emphasised.

160 cadets, all of them students of three educational institutions - the College of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, TISBI College and Kazan Automobile Transport College named after A.P. Obydennov, received certificates from the hands of the guests of honour.

For three months, under the guidance of experienced instructors from the VOIN Centre, they learnt the basics of military and sportsmanship.

‘I express my gratitude to the instructor staff for bringing up patriots - future cadets of the Kazan Higher Tank Command School of the Russian Ministry of Defence or cadets of the Kazan Law Institute of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. We need officers, we need patriots in the Armed Forces who will take the baton from us. Thank you for starting to work with children of this age, for putting the science of victory into these bright heads,’ Captain Rasim Baksikov, Hero of Russia, addressed the audience.

Special mention was made of the cadets who showed special success, skills and abilities in certain disciplines: tactical and firearms training, tactical medicine, unmanned aerial vehicle control.
