KSEU summarised the results of the VI Interuniversity City Olympiad "French in the Modern World". The Olympiad has been traditionally held since 2017. This year, 30 students from seven universities of Kazan took part in it. Alliance Française Kazan was the media partner of the competition.

The Olympiad showed that the French language still attracts young people as a second foreign language. The students were given an opportunity to reflect on the role of the French language in present day and its significance for them.

Dina Garifullina, a student from Volga University, won first place in the Beginners category.

"Dina relied on the knowledge acquired during her French lessons, where we studied not only the language but also French culture," commented Albina Shamsutdinova, associate professor of the Chair of Foreign Languages and Linguistics. - It is not only participation in the Olympiad, but the fact that our students have won it for the first time, and our students have already had an opportunity to demonstrate their language skills in the past years, has become a good tradition. I would like to mention that this was the first time the Director of Alliance Française Kazan Regina Bogomazova was among the jury members. I am pleased with the success of our students, they are really talented and capable.
