The X international Boxing tournament for "SHIFA" prizes ended in Kazan, the guest of honor of which was the world champion, heavyweight boxer, Deputy of the state Duma of the Russian Federation Nikolai Valuev.
Among 70 participants of competitions from Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan aged from 15 to 20 years, victories in the weight categories were won by freshmen of the Volga region Academy of sports Artur Kasimov (in/with 64kg) and Abdurakhmon Yakubov (60kg). Boxers got skilled rivals, but in final rounds both proved to be the best. Children train on the basis of one of the sports facilities of the Volga Academy - the Palace of water sports, where the University is actively developing the specialization of Boxing. And Kasimovo Kazantsev, the representative of Tajikistan Yakubov, we can say lucky, both train here at Evgeny Zakharov, Boxing club "Sparta".
According to the curator of the development of this direction in the Volga Academy of sports, associate Professor of the Department of theory and methodology of martial arts Aydar Zinnatnurov, despite the fact that Boxing specialization appeared at the University only two years ago, now the Volga Academy has six athletes who are ready to act not only at student tournaments, but also to represent the city and the Republic at the all-Russian and international Boxing competitions. Among them, the Champions of Kazan this year, second-year students of the Academy Igor Tsaregorodtsev, Ronaldo of Hubenov and Timothy Jafarov. A number of important victories of the season belongs to the sophomore Artem Sayapov and freshmen Azamat Galiev and Ranel Ismagilov.
