On Saturday, the Volga region Academy of sports for the first time took part in the educational campaign "Tatar dictation". 125 students, representatives of the faculty and staff of the University were tested for knowledge of the Tatar language. Together with the Tatars living in other Russian regions and abroad, they wrote under the dictation of a passage from the works of G. Ishaki "Autumn"."The choice of the work is associated with the 140th anniversary of the author, a bright publicist and public figure.
The main goal of "Tatar dictation" is to increase interest in the native language and its literate spelling. The opening speech before the dictation was made by Vice-rector for academic Affairs Almaz Galimov and head of the Department of foreign languages and linguistics Venera Volchkova. In their presentations, they stressed the importance of preserving the mother tongue, its widespread use and extension.
The Academy was visited by the representative of the world Congress of Tatars Aliya Zakirova on the day of the action.
