The team of the Volga region Academy won silver medals of the championship of Tatarstan in basketball among women's teams. From 8 to 11 October, our students played five matches, of which only one was defeated.
Academicians lost only to kgasu team (66: 77), but according to the head coach of our team Natalia Kuleshova, in this meeting it was difficult for her wards to count on a positive result:
- Kgasu team is staffed by adult players, basketball veterans. Many previously played for professional teams, including two masters of sports.
But against other opponents in the championship team of the Academy made successfully defeated the team of KAZAN state technical University Kazan state technological University (87:19), KFU (87:32), KNRTU-KAI (64:38) and Kazan state power engineering University (95:50). Although all participants of the championship of Tatarstan are formally challenging, they are staffed not only by students, but also graduates.  And only the team of Volga region Academy produces a set of command solely of current students. And, in comparison with last season the team was updated, according to Kuleshova, percent on 70. In particular, due to the fact that the local women's professional club "Kazanochka" disbanded farm team, which were several students.
The girls had to sign contracts with clubs from other cities and now continue their studies at the Academy remotely. The newcomers team is mostly freshman, the vast majority never played basketball even at the level of the youth Academy, but only in regular schools.  Secondly, it is the students of senior courses, many of which this season is also the debut in College basketball. Plus, recently the team was strengthened by a student who transferred to the Volga Academy from the Ufa state oil technical University.
- There she played for the student team and moved to us only in order to play basketball, - says Natalia Kuleshova.
From last year's team a coach left five people. Including sophomore Elizabeth Zaitseva and 4th year student Alina Novikova, who signed contracts with the club super League "Kazanochka". But in matches of the championship of RT Kuleshov did not use them, because I wanted to check all the newcomers.  Plus, it is necessary to take into account that the "Pro" University can not use in all tournaments. In particular, students with professional contracts can not play in the Belov League and in the qualifying for these competitions of the student championship of the Republic of Tatarstan. But in the student super League-easily! But Natalia Kuleshova has enough players for all competitions. Today, there are 17 female students. Another thing is that most of them take their first steps in basketball. And the team of them Kuleshova only started to build and games of the championship of RT, in fact, became " trainings with the increased responsibility»:   
- The result of performances in the championship I'm happy, but the quality of play – no. It seemed that we started preparing for the season quite recently. In fact, to date, laid the Foundation for physical training, and to the tactical and technical classes just started. The team has not been played yet. The next official matches are in the student super League with the team from Izhevsk on October 30-31. In this tournament, I hope, we will take a place not lower than the sixth.
