The winners of the all-Russian competitions in fitness aerobics among the students who took place at the weekend in Kazan were students of the Volga region Academy of sports.
Recall that the program of the representative tournament included competitions of 30 student teams in five disciplines: "step aerobics", "aerobics", "aerobics 5 people", "hip-hop", "hip-hop big group". Volga Academy was represented by teams " Impulse "(in the discipline of aerobics 5 people)," Step-up " (step-aerobics) and LTW (hip-hop big group). As a result," Impulse "took the fifth place in its discipline," Step-up " - the sixth, and LTW – the first.
The success of LTW should not be surprised, according to the team coach, associate Professor of the Department of theory and methodology of gymnastics Tatyana Zayachuk, students of the Academy have repeatedly become winners Of the Spartakiad of Tatarstan universities. But all-Russian competitions are a completely different level.
- The competition here was much higher, - says Tatyana. - University teams from other cities have arrived. Among the participants were world and European Champions. But we also had something to show. The program of the girls is very well set, they have excellent command of several modern dance styles. Do not forget that our University – profile. The team we take a fairly well-trained athletes.
The teams of the Academy of fitness aerobics include students of the Department of theory and methods of gymnastics representing such sports as sports and rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating, acrobatic rock and roll. Some of them continue their sports career, and for those who have completed, aerobics is a good way to keep fit.
Incidentally, the Academy is the only of the Kazan University, which delegate the tournament team following the tournament, has been held for the gold medal.  
Coaches counted, according to Tatyana Zayachuk, and that in the three of prize-winners there will be a team "Step-up". But it failed. Perhaps affected by the fact that the school year has just begun, students have recently returned from vacation and have not yet had time to Polish their programs. And the teams have been updated, as some have completed their studies at the University.
But there is still a lot of competition. In particular, The Spartakiad of Tatarstan universities and the championship of Russia, in which students of the Volga Academy, by the way, have never participated.  And to which we have already received an invitation as the winners of the tournament. The championship will be held in Kazan on April 3-8.
