About students
The number of students studying at the youngest sports University in Russia, after the eighth admission campaign reached 3 thousand students. And the number of freshmen for the first time exceeded 1000 people! Students of the Volga region Academy were representatives of 70 Russian regions and 15 foreign countries.
According to the rector of the Volga region Academy Yusup Yakubov, almost 40% of students are residents of other regions of Russia, another 3% are foreign students. Despite the fact that the admission to the budget places was increased by 25% compared to last year, the competition to the Academy has increased significantly. In General, the University he was 4.5 people per place, and the faculty of sports reached 1.6. At the same time, first-year students do not concede to the level of their sports achievements to senior students. Among the received 10 winners of the all-Russian Olympiads in physical culture and 13 winners of the world and European Championships. Among them are two honored masters of sports, seven masters of sports of international class and 86 masters of sports of Russia. Training of trainers is conducted in 19 sports.
About teachers and salaries
Pavel Kolobkov made a special emphasis in his communication with the rectors on the implementation of the may decrees of the President of Russia concerning the salaries of teachers and researchers of higher educational institutions. According to the" road map", the amount of remuneration of PPP is 200% of the average salary in the region, and the wage Fund, according to Yusup Yakubov, a third is formed from extrabudgetary sources.
With the increase in the number of students in the Academy, the number of University teachers increased by 25 people. Most of them have scientific degrees. And the departments in the University will be 15 from the new year. The departments of water sports, gymnastics will be opened, and the Department of game sports will be divided into football-hockey and volleyball-basketball specializations.
About the tasks
The Minister of sports of Russia reminded that 2018 for the industry began with the difficult Olympic games-2018, which, despite all the difficulties, became successful for the Russian national team. Then the country prepared and successfully held the world Cup. In this part of the Volga region Academy also distinguished itself, becoming the only one of the specialized universities, which opened a volunteer center on its base. 1350 volunteers of the last championship were recruited and trained here, 200 of them are students of the Academy.
As for the tasks, they were outlined in the framework of two Councils under the President of Russia devoted to the preparation of the sports reserve, as well as in the part of the "Demography" project aimed at creating conditions for citizens to engage in physical culture sports. By 2024 this figure could reach 55% of the population. For its implementation, including sports universities need to retrain 28 thousand instructors and 11 thousand coaches.
