Students of the Volga region Academy of sports and tourism made a significant contribution to the victory of the Russian national team in the first United European championship in summer sports. In the medal standings, the Russian team following the results of competitions in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Berlin have won 31 gold 19 silver and 16 bronze medals. One gold and three silver on the account of "academicians" Nikita Schleicher, Grigory Tarasevich and Kirill Belyaev.


Nikita Schleicher on Sunday issued a medal "double" in diving from a 10-meter tower. First he won gold in the pair with Julia Timoshenko in the synchronised diving event, then won the silver medal in singles. 


Schleicher and Timoshinina in the final showed the result of 309.63 points, ahead of the British Duo Matthew Lee / Lois Tulson (307.80 points). In the individual form of the program Nikita with the result of 481, 15 points conceded to compatriot Aleksander Bondar (542, 05).


At swimmers "academician" Grigory Tarasevich, we will remind, provided leadership to the Russian team in the mixed combined relay 4X100, having finished the first at the stage in a preliminary heat. Qualifying for the final, the Russians won the silver. Tarasevich did not participate in the decisive heat, but as a participant of the preliminary stage, he received his medal. We will note, also that Tarasevich only because of the regulations of the competitions which is not allowing participation in the finals of three representatives of one country, didn't get to the final on a distance of 100 meters on a back.
In open water swimming competitions, the 3rd year student of the Academy Kirill Belyaev finished with the second result at a distance of 25 km.
