In the center of rowing sports the winners of the final stage of the IV summer sports Festival of youth of Russia 2018 in rowing were determined. The tournament was attended by students of the Volga Academy of sports and tourism.
On the first day of the competition, Polina Smolenskaya and Elizaveta Starostina brought gold medals and points to the Treasury of the national team of the Republic of Tatarstan, being almost four seconds ahead of their rivals from Moscow in the doubles race.  The silver medalist of the competition was "academician" Kira Yuvchenko, in the team of the Moscow region finished second in the race of paired fours. And the students of the Academy George Semchikov and Yevgeniy Zheleznov in the national team of the Nizhny Novgorod region has won "bronze" in race of the fours pair without helmsman.
On the final day of the competition, August 6 Kira Yuvchenko won another silver, this time in the race of doubles, Polina Smolenskaya and Elizabeth Starostina finished fifth. Akademik Sergey Cherepkov won the bronze medal in the competition of pairs of pairs of light-weight in the team of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and students from Tatarstan Arthur Uriev and Lenar Bagautdinov finished fourth, losing to the team Cherepkova two seconds. As the fourth finished the race single student of the Academy Pauline Mohorjeva. The results of Tatarstan academicians allowed the national team of the Republic to complete the competition on the seventh place in the standings. In total, the sports day was attended by 21 crew.

Kira Yuvchenko, we recall, became a world champion in Poznan. Nevertheless, in Kazan, she made every effort for the successful performance of her team, and then admitted to the conversation:
- Of course, I'm tired, nerves are at the limit, everything is on emotions, the more motivation, the more effort goes into winning the medal. Each next becomes very expensive. But this is my last season in this age category, you can not relax, you need to cast a fishing rod in the future, the remnants of the forces to gather in a bunch to the adult team to enter confidently... since 2012 I'm constantly in the team, at student starts almost do not perform, so I'm very glad that I got to perform at the Olympics, held every 4 years, and even here in Kazan on the basis of the Academy, a student of which I am.
