Silver prize-winners of the IV summer games of youth of Russia 2018 will be Tatarstan badminton players. The national team of the Republic in the final tournament in Penza were formed from students and students of the Volga region Academy of sports and tourism.
According to the results of the competition, our team, headed by the teacher of the Department of theory and methodology of tennis and badminton of the Volga region Academy and the head coach of the national team of RT Igor Nazarov, lost only to the capital badminton players, but bypassed the principal rivals – the Nizhny Novgorod region team. Medals and points to the team of Tatarstan "academicians" brought in all types of programs. Mikhail Gelashvili, took third place in the men's singles.  The girls Anastasia Redkina (this year entering the Academy) and freshman Alina Romanko reached the quarter-finals, but lost to rivals in the fight for getting into the Quartet of the strongest, adding to the team's Treasury points for the fifth place.
In the mixed doubles Egor Cherkassky and entrant of the Academy Ekaterina Kadochnikova also became the fifth. But in the men's and women's doubles at "academics" to "bronze". Medals returned to Kazan Cherkaskih and Gelashvili, and the entrant Mariya Malygina, amounting to a few with Alina Romanko.  Another fifth place at the expense of the male of the Duo "academics" Alexandra Vasilkina and Amir Khamidullin.  
According to the senior teacher of the Department of theory and methodology of tennis and badminton of the Volga region Academy, Alfred Shamgullin, who assessed the performance of our team in Penza as successful, the guys returned to Kazan a little upset.
