The final tournament of the all-Russian summer Universiade ended in Belgorod. The men's team of the Volga region Academy of sports became the strongest among 16 student teams. In the final, Tatarstan under the leadership of the head coach Vladimir Sambukov beat the hosts of the site, the team of the Belgorod state University with the score - 3:0. This success was the third in a row for academicians, after the victories at the 2014 and 2016 Universiades.
