On the eve of its division, the Ministry of youth Affairs and sports of the Republic held a solemn awarding ceremony of the winners of the Spartakiad of higher educational institutions of the Republic and competitions of student sports leagues in basketball, volleyball, football and ice hockey. In the final season, the Volga Academy won a convincing victory in the overall standings of the Games for the third time in a row, which became the absolute champion. In the sports leagues of the Academy last season there was not equal. In all top divisions teams of sports University, as expected, in the final standings are located on the first lines.
More than 9 thousand students from 25 universities of the Republic took part in the competitions of the sports Festival of Tatarstan universities in the final academic year. The program of the Games included competitions in 31 sports. "Academicians" were represented in 30 of them. And in 19 cases became winners of tournaments. In competitions in six sports "academicians" got "silver". The gap between the nearest pursuer-CFU-was 54 points! On a point from students of Federal University students lagged behind in the overall standings students-"builders" (kgasu).
The Cup for the victory in the Olympics was presented to the rector of the Volga region Academy Yusup Yakubov by the President of the international Federation of student sports FISU Oleg Matytsin. In his welcoming address to the audience, he expressed his gratitude to all state and public structures, as well as universities that support student sports in the country. Oleg Matytsin reminded about the role of the Universiade 2013 in the development of student sports.
- The legacy of the Universiade is more than visible. For me, of course, it is very important to increase students ' interest in sports and the role of universities in creating such an advanced model for the development of student sports.
It should be noted that the Volga region Academy has become one of the key tools for the implementation of the "legacy of the Universiade". 8 sports facilities have become a full resource for creating an innovative model of higher sports education in Russia since 2010.
Minister of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov in his speech noted how important is the format of student leagues for the development of student sports in the region and the country:
- Student leagues are a unique product for Russia. Of course, we plan and hope to replicate it throughout the country.
The main heroes of the award ceremony were the captains and coaches of the Volga region Academy teams, who gathered a rich "harvest" of Cups and cash certificates for the purchase of sports equipment and equipment. Playing in the top divisions football, hockey, men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams did not know equal forces on sports grounds.
After the ceremony, the captain of the football team of the Academy Igor Rogachevsky shared his impressions of the season:
- The season was difficult. We played in several tournaments, including Russian level, the team had a lot of games. Sports of the universities of RT on the level, of course, inferior to the all-Russia competition, so it's understandable due to what we only one match ended in a draw and the rest won. But we must take into account that all the teams of local universities are set up for us, there are no passing games at all. Games of the Spartakiad help to hone the team game, to play new tactical schemes, to achieve ideal mutual understanding on the field. We have a new roster every year, and now we have a lot of young first-and second-year students, we check them in the games of the Games, we bring them to the base to win awards for the Republic at the Russian and international level.
The captain of the "academicians" - hockey players Ilyas Garifullin also noted that the games of the Spartakiad of sharpness and intensity are added by the fact that the Volga region Academy is a strong irritant for rivals.
- It's nice to win any tournament. First place is always important. Yes, we play in the all-Russian tournaments, we take high places there, but it means only that in Tatarstan we have no right not to be the first. We have a lot of friends in the teams of other Kazan universities, before or after the game we communicate, joke about each other, but on the court everyone forgets about it, they play against us with full dedication…

-Today, the ceremony did not mention the mini - players-another our team that won the Games of Tatarstan universities. In mini-football, we now have both women's and men's national teams. In total, eight teams were created at the Academy, the Department fulfilled its medal plan by 100%. Men's and women's volleyball teams of the Academy will represent Tatarstan and the University in the final of the all-Russian Universiade, which starts in Belgorod. Girls basketball players go to the European student championship. Basketball team first reached the 1/8 of the League Belova, hockey players second season – winners of the Russian Studencheskoi hockey League, the players took third place at a national competition among teams of universities. The guys reached the all-Russian level, the girls – the world level. In Tatarstan student sport we were and remain the main irritant for everyone. We are trying to overcome by hook or by crook. But we repeatedly prove that we are stronger on sports grounds, and all the questions disappear by themselves.
