The awarding ceremony of the winners of the competition of scientific articles “Scientific Start - 2025”, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics and the Department of Information Systems and Fijital Sports, took place.

The competition is held for the second year. This year the number of participants increased - 69 undergraduate students of Volga Region University submitted their papers. They competed in two nominations: humanities and natural sciences.

Andrey Nazarenko, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of the University, took part in the awarding ceremony. He noted the importance of the competition for the development of science at Volga Region University.

- I would like to thank the Institute and departments that organized the competition. I am sure that it will give a start to the scientific activity of students. It is important for the university to hold more scientific competitions that would form the necessary competencies for students to create and develop their own projects. Student victories in scientific competitions contribute to the development of science in the university as a whole, - emphasized Andrei Nazarenko.

Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism Sergey Druzhkov also welcomed the winners and prize-winners. 

- What we see today is a collaboration of two departments, and it is worth a lot. Only together we will be able to give a high result, which we will be able to shine not only at the regional and federal, but also at the international level. This competition is the first step for us to break through as far as possible, - said Sergey Druzhkov.

Zoya Pavitskaya, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics, emphasized that science is the key to the future and sustainable development of society. Olga Lyubyagina, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Fijital Sports, congratulated the students with the victory.

The jury consisted of university professors, who noted the high level of students' preparation and the relevance of the presented research. Anna Arzumanyan became the winner in the nomination “Natural Sciences”. Diana Bogdanova and Ekaterina Maksimova won in the nomination “Humanities”.
