Andrey Nazarenko, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, took part in the Festival of University Science, which was held in Minsk. He became a participant of the round table “University cooperation: Eurasian scale”.

The event brought together representatives of leading sports and medical universities from the Eurasian Economic Union, including Russia.

During the discussion, the participants of the meeting came to a decision to strengthen cooperation - they proposed the creation of a multifunctional platform in the format of an international student forum. It is assumed that with its help it will be possible to hold competitions not only in science, but also in sports, as well as to create joint research projects.

In his speech Andrey Nazarenko paid attention to the strategic directions of international cooperation of Volga Region University.

- The university actively expands and strengthens partnerships with leading foreign educational institutions, research institutes and sports organizations. Thanks to this, the quality of specialists' training is improved and its position in the world arena is strengthened. Now cooperation in the field of science, sport and education is conducted with 22 foreign organizations from 12 countries, - said the Vice-Rector of the sports university of Tatarstan.

According to Andrei Nazarenko, in 2025 it is planned to organize 17 international and all-Russian scientific-practical conferences with partner universities. At that, six conferences will be held jointly with the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, the Academy of Sports of Azerbaijan, the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and Chengdong Sports University.

At the end of his speech Andrey Nazarenko emphasized that the work plan for the current year was sent to the Ministry of Sport of Russia for further cooperation with the Council on Physical Culture and Sport of the CIS Executive Committee. And also a draft regulation on the Spartakiade of the Commonwealth of Independent States among students, which is scheduled for 2026.
