‘Psychology, like any science, is moving forward. The third wave, ‘mindfulness’, which is effective in sport psychology as well, has been widely publicised. It is based on the rejection of the concepts of ‘good’ and ‘bad’, which allows the athlete to switch from emotions to reality and overcome doubts to achieve the desired result,’ emphasised Michael Botting, Chief Sport Psychologist at the Scottish Institute of Sport .
The round table was followed by a presentation by representatives of Volga Region University. Natalya Grechannikova, Vice-Rector for Administration, Social Development and Youth Policy, told how patriotic education of students takes place at the university thanks to museum pedagogy and the student media centre. Svetlana Zizikova, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, highlighted the problems of readiness of future specialists for professional activity in the conditions of digital transformation.
"After graduating from university, a specialist continues to work in rapidly changing conditions. Therefore, universities are faced with the task of not only teaching professional competencies, but also developing soft skills and talking about working with digital technologies. Students of the Volga Region University, regardless of their field of study, study digital literacy, ethical and legal standards, develop cognitive skills, which helps them graduate as better prepared specialists," shared Svetlana Zizikova.
